Empowering marketing and advertising professionals to reach new heights.

Us marketing and advertising professionals are no strangers to the challenges and pressures of the industry. The fast-paced nature of our field, coupled with the constant need to adapt to changing trends and technologies, can take a toll on even the most seasoned marketers.
Just looking at the stats is a scary exercise. Here are a few key statistics that we should all pay attention to....
83% of advertising marketing and comms professionals report they are burnt out! (I had to triple-check that wasn’t a typo!)
64% of advertising and media professionals have considered leaving the industry because their work is affecting their well-being.
Over one third (36%) of advertising and media professionals rate their mental health over the last year as 'poor' or 'very poor'.
1 in 4 (26%!) advertising and media professionals say they have a long-term mental health condition.
36% of marketing and creative professionals don’t claim to be getting a good night’s sleep.

So what can help improve these marketing skills?
I created Resilient Marketing Minds as a training and development service that advocates for mental strength and resilience in the marketing and creative industry. I've been a marketer for close to 20 years and I've seen firsthand the impact that stress and pressure can have on an individual's mental state, and conversely the impact that resilience can have on personal and team success. We have the skill set, but not necessarily the mindset. But what exactly does it mean to be resilient in the marketing industry? Resilience is about more than just bouncing back from setbacks. It's about having the awareness and adaptability to navigate challenges and thrive in the face of adversity. There are many paths we can take, but I personally focus on the value of five foundations: Mindset, Communication, Emotional Intelligence, Health, and Balance. I've outlined each of them here. Mindset is the foundation of resilience. It's about cultivating a positive and growth-oriented mindset that allows marketing professionals to adapt to change, adjust our perspectives, see challenges as opportunities, and so much more. Communication is another crucial aspect of resilience. Effective communication skills can help marketing professionals navigate conflicts, build strong relationships, and adapt to changing circumstances. Emotional Intelligence is our ability to understand and manage our own emotions, as well as navigate the emotions of others. It plays a vital role in increasing resilience, as it allows marketing professionals to see the playing field, navigate stressful situations and find solutions, internally and externally.
Health and Balance are often overlooked aspects of resilience, but they are essential for long-term success. When it comes to health, it's pretty obvious to note that it's extremely difficult to make any positive change when we're sick or burnt out. As for balance, our resilience improves when we can learn to say 'no' more often, and spend more time doing what really matters. But, as we all know in marketing and advertising, ideas are easy and it's the execution that is difficult. These ideas might seem simple on paper. That is because they are....but they require understanding and real practice. This is what you'll find here with us - the practical tools that can help you develop these 5 core skills.
